Been meeting up friends and spending my remaining time here in Singapore with my family and love ones...... The pre-departure preparation isnt really done yet..... I buffer one full day to do it, it should be sufficient I guess.......

Met up with Candice and Serene...... Had much fun and yummy food in 85....... The stingray that day is really awesome........ Went back again with LN and Edmund but its so different again...... So the quality aint consistent......... Candice is one of the few internship peepz that I click best with....... Prolly among the girls, its just Candice and Fen...... So its always fun to talk to them........

After the 85 meeting, I ended up owing them a Haiku each....... Hahaha.....

Played "Citadel" with Nat, Jac Jac, LN, Yvonne and Edmund yesterday....... A very fun game which needed alot of strategizing....... My type of game........ I came close but didnt emerge victorious with Edmund snatching both victories...... That basket is always so scheming....... Hahaha......

Im almost done the first part of the trilogy of "Alexander: Child Of A Dream" by Valerio Massimo Manfredi........ An Italian historian....... This trilogy is introduced by Tim and I have to admit I am having alot of fun reading it........ I think I have found another new genre that I enjoy reading immensely....... Historical Fiction........ Its brilliant.......Gotta buy the remaining two books in the trilogy........

After I "conquer" the ancient Greece..... I will move to Rome with Julius Caesar...... I realise I dont know much about him........ And I will be much interested to know about Genghis Khan...... But I wonder is there any historical fiction novel about him.......

Alright..... Thats about all......

Back from Taiwan...... Not bad a trip....... But its really different from most of my trips because this trip lacks the insider knowledge of a local...... Its still alright I guess....... The food is good and I get to see what is Taiwan like.......

Got invited to Shell Gourami Challenge...... Its held in Shangri La Hotel, Penang over 4 days........ Might not be able to make it though...... Because I am already in Hong Kong then...... Unless Shell is willing to fly me over from Hong Kong.......

Hahaha...... Feel quite like a slut...... Although I already have the Merrill offer in the pocket....... Im still keeping my options open...... Lets see how it goes......

Completed "Next" by Michael Crichton....... Not bad a read...... Lack a main plot in this work though....... Thats my only complain......

8/10.......

10 more days to Hong Kong.........

Completed "Afghan Campaign"...... Another great work by Stephen Pressfield...... Im totally smitten....... Gives me a little more insights to Alexander's campaign...... Its like a parallel to the US and Vietnam war...... Almost too similar in certain ways....... A good read.......

8.5/10.......

Next, Im reading "Next" by Michael Crichton..... His work don't disappoints....... About halfway through the book...... Really interesting...... A much different way of writing from his previous work...... Its like having a lot of sub-plots ongoing in a bigger story and each of the sub-plot is link somehow to one another....... Very interesting.......

Going to Taiwan for a 5 days trip from tomorrow onwards....... Been dreaming of the much talk about Ah Chong Mee Sua, Ji Pa and not forgetting the bubble tea...... Drool~ Will be a great trip......

Having lotsa deja vu lately....... So is all the dreams going to come true?? Hope the nightmares dont......

Met up with KC on Friday...... Pre-departure gathering of sort...... Stood me up for an hour....... #$%$%^....... Hahaha...... But its always nice to meet an old friend...... Certain things we talk about suddenly came true....... "Tug of war theory".......

Eve, KC, Jiahui, Jeremy, Sue...... Bon Voyage to all of my sweet friends....... See you guys/gals again in 2008.......

Completed "Gates Of Fire" by Stephen Pressfield...... Awesome!!! He springs the Spartans to live....... I can almost think and feel like them....... Lotsa quotes I really love from the book..... Will list out a couple in the latter part of the entry.......

The story is something like the movie; "300"...... Just that the author follows historical evidence from historians making it an epic novel...... If you like the movie, you will love this book......

9.5/10......

Quote when Leonidas is addressing the allies officers(Not just the Spartans) at the hot gates towards the final battle;

"Finally this, brothers and allies. Wherever the fighting is the bloodiest, you may expect to discover the Lakedaemonians in the forefront. But convey this, above all to your men: let them not yield preeminence in valor to the spartans, rather strive to outdo them. Remember, in warfare practice of arms counts for little. Courage tells all, and we Spartans have no monopoly on that. Lead your men with this in mind and all will be well"

Quote from Suicide, a squire serving for the Spartans when he was injured in the groin while trying to kill Xerxes(Persian King);

"I can't shit but by hell's flame, I can still fight"

Influenced by "Gates Of Fire", I bought "The Afghan Campaign" by Stephen Pressfield....... Its about Alexander conquest...... Im falling in love with his books.......

Done with "The Innocent Man"....... Finished it in 2 days...... Quite a feat for a really slow reader like myself....... Its a real page turner........ Coupled with the fact that its a non fiction...... I feel angered by the injustice suffered........ Will not spoil the fun for you....... Grab that book if you can......

9/10.....

Started on the reccomendation of Saz...... "Gates Of Fire"........ With the rave review from such a bookworm like Saz...... Im looking forward to a really good read.......
